Post: Still learning, curious about hard money and refi out

So I'm reading through "the book on investing in real estate with no and low money down".. I'm curious, is it possible or normal to create an LLC, obtain a hard money loan under the LLC and later refinance out of the hard money loan into a conventional bank loan, again with the LLC as owner? This is in Las Vegas and I'm just trying to get ideas on if this is common practice and if so what might be involved with all of this.

Thank you,

Nick C.

I'll try to keep it brief. I'm 30, spent most of my younger years in active drug addiction and ended up getting arrested and charged with a couple felonies. I've since gotten clean and been trying to play catch up for the years I wasted. Real estate has always peeked my curiosity and more recently I found bigger pockets and have been listening to podcasts every chance I get. Purchased a couple of their books and a few others as well. Basically I want to get into this the right way and I'm a little impatient. I don't even have the necessary funds if I even knew how to find a deal and not to mention as soon as I let my closest friends know what I'm looking at doing I'm met with doubt at laughter. Where do I go from here? Just keep reading and learning more? REIA meetups? Tell myself to slow down a bit? Guess I'm just looking for reassurance because this can get very overwhelming for a newbie.
