@Joseph Caracappa, Thank you so much, very good advice.  I definitely have my why and I've been interested in real estate investing for some time now.  I've just been too afraid to fail because I have people who depend on me. But lately I've been feeling like I need to go ahead and do this.  As far as wanting something for free, that's not me.  I've been working since I was 15 years old and have had all types of jobs,  so I think I'm pretty good at anything that I put my mind to because I give my all at everything I do for the simple fact that whenever my name is mentioned I want it to be mentioned for something good so I don't think I'll have a problem making myself an asset to a mentor. Thanks again for this great advice, you just gave me a little more confidence

Thank you @Robert Syfert, @Cary Ferguson Jr., @Jeff Fruhwirth, & @Greg S. for the advice. I really appreciate it. What do you all say is the best way to find a mentor?

Good morning Desean Mattox, I agree with Ned Carey.  I went to the 3 day seminar when they held it at the Weston in Detroit.  It was very informational and exciting which eventually led me here to Bigger Pockets.  I still have the CD and book.  I'm located in Detroit, MI as well.  If you still want the book and CD let me know, I'll shoot you my number and I can copy mine for you.  Also I purchased "BiggerPockets Presents.....The Book on Investing in Real Estate with No (or little) Money Down" by Brandon Turner and I have to say I am loving it!
