Try Michigan Investment Title Company in Romeo, MI. They are investor friendly.

Post: Let's talk "urban" investing...

Hello again good people!

I wanted to get input from you on investing in lower income urban neighborhoods. Some call these places "the hood", "the ghetto" or "war zones". In Lansing, we really don't have ghettos or war-zones to that degree. But I grew up in urban Detroit, so my frame of reference is a bit different than others! :)

Anyway, are there any of you out there that currently invest in these types of areas here in Lansing? I know the cheaper $10-$40k houses tend to work better for landlords & rental/cash flow rather than re-habbers. Using the wholesaling strategy, we are getting solid leads on available houses consistently. Some are nice and need little work and some are beat to death and would need major repair work.

What are your thoughts??

 Hi Jeff,

Thanks for that intel! I may have just found that group on Meetup! Looks like they are pretty active! It may be worth a trip to good old Troy once a month. I used to be a night manager at the former Doubletree in Troy. It's a great city!

Thanks again and Take Care!

 Hi Kyle,

Drew below just gave some insight on a local group in town and on FB! We need to get involved! I would definitely be honored to connect with you! What kind of investing strategy are you looking to employ?

Blessings!

Hello everyone! I am here in the Lansing, MI area. I have been looking for good active real estate investor associations, meetups, clubs, etc. for my business partner and I to attend. I used the locator map here on BP, but it yielded no results. I looked on meetup.com but didn't see a lot of activity in this area. :(

Any recommendations on a good group to belong to?

Blessings,

Nathan

3 things I've learned in life:

1. Where there's a WILL, there's a way!

2. If someone else did it, then I can do it too (given I'm prepared to do what they did to get it)!

3. Never let a naysayer douse my fire.

If you believe you have a solid idea, and have crafted a solid plan, go for it! Take action, allow yourself room to make mistakes and learn! Obstacles are a surety, but they can be managed, mitigated and overcome!

This just happened to me after 4 colleague requests.  I was responded to the suggested list of members in my area. I just sent a request to the admin explaining I wasn't spamming. We'll see how it goes.
