@Michael H. - You don't need your contractor to be familiar with the FHA 203k loan per se. Your contractor will need to draw up a scope of repairs and/or drawings for use of the loan $$, which should essentially be standard bidding process. A FHA inspector will come to the property separately to assess it. You'll get part of the 203k "construction" loan at closing and more later when you've finished the repair work.

PM me for my Princeton NJ area contractor.

Cheers,

@Mark Allen @Nathan Waters - Make sure to thoroughly inspect any property you buy to confirm its value. Sylvia said she lost money investing with Wendell's friend at his suggestion. Obviously investments can go up or down.

@Odie Ayaga Awesome advice. Thank you! Hope to see you at SJREIA. (I also learned some interesting things at Philadelphia DIG Diversified Investor Group).

@Naum Raz I would be delighted to Skype or chat with you about my high quality service and property management experience. I have a great track record with fast leasing (<15 days vacant on average) and rent collection (100% over 7 years). Cheers.

Greetings. I'm Natalie Vane. I'm an investor and real estate agent in Trenton / Princeton New Jersey NJ. My mother, Linda Vane, is a fantastic real estate broker in the Washington D.C., Fairfax, Arlington, Northern Virginia Area. I own a multi-family property in Reston, VA and manage several single-family homes. I've been a house hacker in the past. I earned a MBA from Wharton in Real Estate in 2015 and earned a Professional Engineering license in Civil Engineering / Construction in 2013. In my spare time, I design websites and help small businesses market themselves. I would love to manage more properties for people - I hate inefficiency and vacancy! I joined BiggerPockets because I saw it on iTunes and I have been listening for a few months. I love the Podcast.
