If all is new to you, I would consider a CPA. $300 to $500. This is the learning process we all go through when we start. You have to ask yourself, Do i really want to learn this stuff or just hand it over to someone and just get it done! Most of them will not take the time to teach you. They just want the info and the payment when they are done. Totally understandable. They have studied and need to be compensated for what they do. They are super busy and have many clients. Over the years I have had 4 CPA's and lost due to retirement. I worked full time, had a side business, family, and did not have time to really learn. Now I am in the same boat as you and have lots of time. I just used a program to due my taxes. It pretty much looks the same as the CPA's work. But boy I did learn a lot by going step by step and did lots of reading for my situation. It IS a learning curve. I also have a friend that has been using it for years and told me to call him if I need help. My recommendations.
1. Get CPA for 2 years $800 ( pick one that you can really ask questions) 2.Buy tax program for 2 years $240 (so you can compare) 3. tax course $179(only for deep study)
After this YOU can really make a decision if you really need a CPA. or use a tax program.
Message me anytime, would love to hear your outcome.
