I'm in California. Did you say I could owe the late fees and I could be entitled for landlord to pay me interest on my deposit?

The lease specified late charges but they never charged me. Can they deduct the late fees from my deposit?

I been renting the same house for 5 yrs, I paid 2x amount of rent for deposit. I been renting the same home for 5yrs, I only signed 1 year lease the 1st yr. The years after I didnt sign a lease , it was all verbal, owner never increased my rent, I was suppose to pay my rent every 1st but I paid it bewteen the 10th-18th every month. Can I still get my deposit back now that I'm moving out?
