@Holly Qu  The system is working but is inconsistent. You applied later than most and got funded. Very interesting....

I think I got lucky in that I applied after the system got streamlined

but I wanted to share because I'm not sure many of the people who got funded are posting.

Also, my case may be more simple with no LLC's etc. to verify

Also the same situation as Holly but sole proprietor, no LLC applied I believe the first week of April or maybe the end of March, have received nothing but an email "We know, understand, etc, etc...." FRUSTRATING.

I went thru the application very quickly when I applied about a month ago, I believe the amount of the loan will be based on some "losses" box that we filled out? I remember not having a clue about how to calculate this, was this based on how much someone had lost to that point or projected losses for the year or what??

Dear Applicant,

We understand the challenges your business is facing due to the massive disruption caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic....

What happens after this? How do they determine how much you get? I have 6 short term rentals, 2 houses that were starting to get rehabbed for future rental. I'm trying to refi one of my properties but my DTI is coming in high and was just denied, I need this loan more than ever!

I had my EIDL loan go all the way through to signing the agreement and note (so far), I posted about it in the corona forum:

https://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/895/topics/831407-sba-eidl-loan-went-through-unlock-credit-files-to-verify-ident

The first email I got started the same way "We understand the challenges etc".. I got that email 5/2. On 5/5 I got an email to create a login/password on their portal. From there I had to verify my identity, then the next day (5/6) I got an email saying my loan was approved and to sign the closing docs.

I included screenshots of all the terms and conditions of the loan. I just signed the loan docs earlier tonight, will update that thread if/when any funds get disbursed.

Thank you! My main question is how do they determine how much you're supposed to get? I had no chance to enter my properties or any other pertinent information, I think there was a box for losses? I don't even remember how much I put in there, my fear is that they will just give me a small amount as apposed to what I need and there's nothing I can do about it now.

Neighborhood Allies is out of Pittsburgh PA, and they're working exclusively with First Commonwealth Bank. I hope you're able to make good use of it, if you're approved. Good luck!

 Thank you Matt!

The program was just opened up to Sole Proprietorships and 1099's on April 10th (yesterday as I write this). Keep in mind that a bank still has to approve you, and they'll still be dealing with the risk should someone abuse the system. Good luck!

Hi Matt,

This is great for a person like me doing short term rentals! (no employees). Where did you read about opening to 1099s? Would love to read more about it.

Hello,

Just came into this thread, I have 6 Airbnbs, all hard hit by corona. I'm finishing my taxes as we speak (2017, 2018 yes very late!) so I can apply for a cash out on a house I just rehabbed, really need to pull the money so I can survive but as luck will have it the corona hit, seems the refi might get more complicated because of the taxes and the current situation. What are my options for this program? Is it possible to get a loan with my house as collateral? If so up to how much do they lend?

Thank you very much in advance!

You may have very limited to no options because you are only now finishing your 2017 2018 taxes. That will be an unfortunate consequence of the very late filing.

As I understand, if you were eligible, they would calculate for rental property owners the loan amount based off of your projected or realized losses of rents due to the disaster. The first $25,000 is unsecured, above that they would require real estate as collateral, though they wont deny a loan for lack of collateral.

Please keep in mind, these funds must be used for specific purposes and cannot be used for business expansion. The SBA should have a list of approved uses of proceeds available per a quick google search.

Thank you for the reply David,

I FINALLY was able to get someone on the line, he said that the taxes shouldn't impact me but I had the feeling that the rep wasn't that knowledgeable. I did put an application and we'll see what happens, it's crazy that it's such a simple application that they're going to go by to approve or deny you, I feel I should have fudged the application so I could get approved then I can show the lending rep my "real" situation and have the rep determine if I qualify, which I would guess should be no problem with so many losses.

Hi David,

I just found this site and wanted to give an update of my experience.  I applied for an SBA disaster loan for my downtown Seattle Airbnb (condo), as soon as Washington State was declared a disaster state.

Today I talked with someone at the SBA and have been approved for a $20K loan.  Paperwork coming soon, along with a case-worker to discuss details with.

Interestingly, I was sent a form Saturday that included a place to indicate the financial impact of the disaster.  I gave an estimate of lost Airbnb revenue from March 12-June 1.  And also for June 1-August.  During the first period alone I will lose $7-10K in revenue. June-August is higher.  The person I spoke with said she just needed my gross revenue for 2019 in order to determine loan details.  Nothing was said about a grant, although I provided information that could have been used for that.

I assume they'll be ready soon to process those grants, and I can discuss at that time, but for now the person I discussed this with at SBA had no idea about grants - only taking information to process loans.

It really gets old hearing politicians say they will make us "whole".  That's just not possible under any scenario other than people going crazy this Fall to make up for their lost travel opportunities.  Cross your fingers.

Thanks for this discussion!

Scott

Hi Scott,

Do you happen to have the number to reach someone? I called the main number and I'm number 1,323 in the queue! crazy!

I also have airbnbs that have lost a lot of money on cancelled bookings, a loan would be amazing.

Thank you!

@@Elizabeth Goff were you able to find contractors to rehab the houses? I have 3 near that area, done with 1, 2 to go.
