I have had incredible experiences through the KnoxREIA group for investing in Knoxville. I was recently able to observe a flipping transaction from walkthrough to contract which gave me incredible access into the world of flipping properties. I was invited by a KnoxREIA member to meet at a property and watch as they talked with the homeowner, walked through the property, talk about rehab costs, and observe the negotiation of an actual offer on the property. This is not something you can get by reading books and forums. This was a firsthand, real life experience that played out before my eyes all because of some of the connections I've made through the KnoxREIA group. If you have not checked out KnoxREIA I would definitely recommend you attend one of their monthly meetings. Just search for KnoxREIA on BiggerPockets. Oh, and Victor Jernigan does a fantastic job of leading the group. He is always willing to share his experiences and advice with people.

I attended the meeting at the Holiday Inn Cedar Bluff. The cost was $20 for the first meeting. They provided dinner, and opportunity to meet other investors, realtors, contractors, etc., and lots of great information. You should definitely check it out in March. They meet on the second Tuesday of every month.

I was very pleased with my experience at the Knoxville REIA meeting last night. Thank you so much to @Victor Jernigan for presenting valuable information about rehabbing homes and other zip code specific advice for investors. I enjoyed networking with other investors and look forward to using the information moving forward. I would highly recommend you attend this meeting if you are getting started out in real estate.
