I would check with some of the more experienced people, but some of that area may be considered historical which may add another layer or two of requirements on your remodeling.

@Damon Smith, I found the event and RSVP'd.  Looking forward to it!

Going to a meetup sounds great!  Beer and RE is hard to resist.  Let me see if I can make it.  Where do I find out the details?

Hi!   My name is Michael Garland from San Antonio, TX.  I recently joined BP to increase my real estate knowledge and become a real estate investor.

My background is I am a commercial lender for a community bank in town.  So my job is to lend to people, primarily in real estate.  Most of the loan requests are for investment real estate - SFRs and Commercial.  So I see the success people are having, and I am a part of that success.

So I decided to finally start doing what my clients do - invest in real estate.  I understand the financial side of real estate investing, but the owner/seller side I do not know much:  Finding deals, finding tenants, rehabbing, etc.   Being a banker, making that first step has been hard.   So far, the podcasts have been very informative and motivational.  I hope to put together and close on my first deal soon.  Just need to find one!
