Post: Best out of state locations to invest in

Good evening, I'm currently an undergraduate student majoring in Finance. My professor recommended me to Bigger Pockets to connect with real estate professionals. Overall, this is an amazing site!

I had a quick question, I'm very interested in buying a multifamily rental out of state. I know that's a big step to take starting off, but I'm from New York, so its tough to actually afford a property out here. Would love any advice on out of state locations that are great to start off in. I'm willing to partner up. Thanks!

@Dave Spooner

Appreciate the feedback Dave! Hope you’re doing well.

That’s exactly what I’ll do! Just wanted to have a clear mapped out plan.

I'm currently looking forward to using an (FHA loan) to house hack my first investment property. I'm still working on the credit part to qualify.

Would it be ok if I reach with any questions? Thanks again, take care!

@Andy Eakes

Thanks for the feedback Andy!

That’s probably what I’ll do. Just trying to have my plan mapped out and attack it 1 by 1.

At the moment I'm looking forward to purchasing a duplex or triplex in NJ using a (FHA loan) and house hack. Still working on the credit part.

Would it be ok if I reach out to you if I have any questions? Thanks again man, take care!

I’m interested in picking up a couple rentals. I live in section 8, and theirs income limits we should follow.

I was thinking buying the rentals under a (CORP) and paying myself a reasonable salary.

Any suggestions? Greatly appreciated thank you

Today my uncle told me I needed a real estate license to start my own company. I then told him all I wanted to do was start my own investment company. Just wanted more opinions and answers from real estate pros out there who can breakdown what I should do to start my RE investment company.

Is there something wrong with the name I chose possibly: Rojas Estates Realty Group?

Hey everyone I’m a total newbie to wholesaling and was wondering why I don’t have to worry about repair estimates on a property? Is that something the end buyer deducts from his costs when he buys the house? Little confused.
