Post: Rent To Own or Just Find An Apartment?

So I'm a 20 year old business student at Suny Farmingdale on Long Island. I want to move into an apartment with a buddy of mine who is 26 and has very stable income. Is it smarter for us to try and find a home to pay rent on to eventually own? Or should we just get an apartment? I have a full time job, and I am also going to have student loans paying for my off campus housing. Regardless of if I should search for an apartment, or a house to rent to own, what is the best way to go about doing this?

Does anyone have a good website I can see that is good to get an idea of what mine should look like? I am working on marketing for leads to wholesale.

Thanks

The company I am starting to work for in January is training me for three months before I even talk to anyone outside the office. Morris Lucas

Ahh. No that makes sense. I'd definitely be happy with that too. Thanks for the information by the way. The office I'll be working for has a side company that deals with leasing that I'll be able to make money from referrals off of, but I'm sales. $200,000 dollars in my hands off one deal I'd probably have to smack myself a couple times anyways.

I know the answer is going to be different for everyone, but I am currently about to get into real estate full time and I was just wondering how long is took for everyone's first deal to come. I am going to be a commercial real estate broker, but would like to know a realistic time period, assuming I am motivated and am trained well.

The potential is great, but I also have bills that need to be paid and I know it could take me 6-12 months to close my first deal. Glenn Espinosa

Hi guys, I was recently offered a position as a Commercial Real Estate Investment Broker. I don't want to put the exact details of what they offered me, but it is full commission, with a training program, but there is a possible draw opportunity until I close my first deal. I'm from Long Island, and I just wanted to get some idea's of what pay usually is like for Brokers. How much is a likely weekly draw? What are incentives like? Should I have car allowances? I just want to know if I should push for more then I'm offered. Can anyone give me an idea or message me so I can explain in more detail?

Thanks,
-Mike
