@Michael Noto

 wow this is a very in-detailed description process of buying a house. I am glad I read this, thank you

@Michael Noto my apologies for the delay reply, I am still getting used to this forum.

@Michael Noto I am looking towards Stamford, Hamden, new haven (possible in the north part), and  New Britain. Will you  be able to assist me in looking through it. I have went to all but New Britain and I believe the neighborhood is quiet, decent and friendly. I am very much interested in investing in this location. I will most likely head to Connecticut again to look at some of the selected houses I saw on Truilia. It would be great if you can assist me through the search since I will be making the trip.

Hey BP members, are there any investor friendly real estate agents out there. I am very much interested in Connecticut and will be doing some neighborhood watches on  the houses I've been eyeing on. I will be traveling there next week or the week after,. Connecticut  -- Hamden,new haven, new Britain and a few more. I would love to get ideas and help from everyone.

Thank you

i would not personally rent to people i know, it becomes a big mess if rent is late or overdue. It becomes harder for me, as a landlord to just let it go and then before you know the relationship is gone. I think the first thing you should always considered in mind is rent to someone is a business even if you know that person.

Hi everyone,

I've been looking through Truilia, Zillow, Craig's list and so forth with houses on sales. I even went there in personal to check the area and the house itself. Now my next big step is getting recommendations of real estate agents that can help me go forward with my plan.  Can anyone recommend me real estate agents from Connecticut, NJ and Queens) It will give me an idea of exactly how I can approach to my next step.

Thanks.

Hi BP members, I own a house and I understand I have to provide necessary services to the house and tenants. However, let's say a tenant has a toilet leaking under the tank or a clogged toilet, is it the duty of the landlord to provide that service or can the tenant hire an outside job to do so. I know it sounds a bit stupid, but just curious.

Also one last thing if a tenant decides to hire an outside locksmith to replace all the doorknobs to each room is it legal for them to do so? The lease states any changes must be confirmed with landlord. However the tenant's lease expired three years ago, does it still pertain to them?

Thank you for time and patience BP members.
