Who has used REI pro? Is it worth the cost? I'm trying to decide if it's worth it or not.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for all the advice. Unfortunately NC is an attorney state so title checks go through the attorney's office since we don't know how to do it ourselves yet. But the deal fell through since we haven't had a return call from the sellers. Either way we got another call back today so I'll just keep it moving haha.

Hello everybody,

We put out advertising and had a call back for an abandoned property. It's been vacant for 7 years and the owner just wants to get rid of the property. The problem is there are 2 banks that are trying to claim the property and the owner isn't sure which banks they are currently. There has already been some repairs made to the property but there is a city violation that they just got in the mail. How would we proceed with trying to acquire this property? Should we make an offer and file quiet title with an attorney? This seller is extremely motivated. Is there a way for us to find out which banks are trying to claim this property and why? Best case scenario we would like to make an offer by the end of next week if possible.

For now we're in the NC market only because we just started but we decided we should go ahead and take action.

Don't forget about Greenville, NC. The college is growing, they have current revitalization projects going, and the hospital is growing as well. Property values on the rise and a variety of ideas and money to be made. We're getting started here in Greenville, NC and are expanding out. You'll be delighted to see the changes that have been made here in the last 10 or so years, especially the last 5.

I went house shopping for distressed properties and have already sent out letters over interest to buy. These abandoned duplexes are in an area that the property values are slowly climbing up but these homeowners are thousands behind on taxes, absentee owners, and the homes are paid for, but they will need face lifts and have been boarded up by the city. What do you think would be an appropriate price, I want to make sure I'm not about to low ball some people accidentally. The homes selling in the area are between 50-80K after repair value but right now are only worth the land they're on. Is it wrong to offer what they owe on taxes plus a little extra pocket money? Ex. 7k for the duplex and land? These homes need about 15-20k in repairs.

Thanks for the welcome and information. @Curt Powell what is the area you're interested in? Maybe one day we may be able to partner on a deal.

My name is Michael and I'm new to real estate investing in the Eastern NC area, particularly Greenville, NC. I'm looking for pointers on how to get started with wholesaling, flipping, and tax foreclosures. The goal is to have real estate investing replace my income so I can spend more time with my family.
