From what i understand, i can include certain repairs in the fha loan. My question is, if i found a lot of land, could i include the construction cost of building a home in the fha loan?

reading this is inspiring. Congratulations on your accomplishments because im sure it came with alot of good and bad days! Coming from the bay area for a newbie seems grim because of how out of control prices may seem, but with patience and diligence im sure anyone can prevail! Cheers to your success.

hey i would love to have a chat with you sometime! I am also from the south bay and am in a situation similar to yours, i want to house hack but stay in the area if possible.

congratulations! This has been inspiring.

Hello all,

I am still a novice to the real estate world and am looking to becoming financially free and figure out a better retirement solution rather than 401k's and such. any help would be greatly appreciated!

hahaha i wasnt expecting it in Santa Clara, i am open to the entire bay area region including sacramento and tracy. Do you think you can point me in the right direction?  Maybe list the cities that i can expect higher cash flow and "more" affordable?

@Chris Mason

thats what i am leaning on if possible, but like i said i have very low capital. I was reading a couple forums on bay area investing and people were saying rental properties are a lost cause here which led me to creating this post. Trying to figure out what works and what doesnt in this market.
