@Mackenzie Dobson Hi Mackenzie! I'm investing in Peterborough currently with two properties. I'm up for connecting in more depth. I know there are some other threads about Peterborough here on BP already. Its been awhile since I've been on BP but I'm sure they're probably still active. Anyways, DM me your info and we'll set something up.

@Arjun Chelliah Did you end up deciding on a realtor? Have any advice on the area at all? Doing some due diligence myself for the area. I'll send you a connect and DM. If you have some time let's get on the phone to discuss! Have a great day! 😀

Hi Michael, thanks for the welcome. Good to hear from a fellow bramptonian. I am new to REI and still trying to understand the REI principles by reading, listening to podcasts and fiddling with RE calculators. I am drawn towards BRRRR and multi family rental strategy. I own my primary residence and currently working with a mortgage agent to free up some capital. I plan to take a plunge in 2021. How about you?

That's great! Some of my favourite podcasts currently are The Andrew Hines Podcast, Gary Hibbert & RISE Network. Rise network also has big facebook group as well. Hopefully Covid will ease up soon and we can finally get together at some meetups. We used a HELOC on our primary residence to purchase our first rental in 2018. Currently looking for number 2! Have offered on 3 in the peats 6 weeks but haven't landed one yet. Tough buying on market lately. Hoping to pick one up early 2021.

P.S. I'd be happy to connect to talk real estate if you're open to it. I've been investing in real estate for 4 years now.

Hi Kiril! I'm also investing in Peterborough. Have one duplex since 2018 and have been actively looking for the next property for past 3 months. Like all markets right now, very competitive buying on market with multiple offers and everything over asking. To be honest most areas are pretty good for rentals and vacancy rate is pretty low. Downtown core, as with most cities the tenant profile will be a little more rough. West end, North end are ideal in my opinion. I expect things to be slow over Xmas time but hopefully more good listings come in the new year. Always available to talk REI if your interested in a deeper discussion. Have a great day and good luck!

Hi Bram! Check out CashFlow Tribe. Its new but its a really supportive community, specially for newbies in REI.

Look up Matt Mckeever, Matt Piche, Kellan James, Jeff Wybo to name a few.  They are all in the London, Kitchener/Waterloo area.  All have some really good content on social media, specifically for that area.

Best of luck!

Thanks everyone who joined in. Considering the circumstances a zoom call was a good option. Although a very informal meet and greet it was nice to hear from a wide range of investors and their stories. Look forward to having an in-person meet up soon.

I was trying to multi task during the zoom call while working on/cleaning my rental. Really hit home after doing that, that I was working IN my business instead of ON my business. Time would have been better spent fully engaged in our virtual meetup learning and networking. I'm still learning, and that was a lesson learned!

Look forward to more interacting and learning with fellow BP members! 😄

Thanks for setting this up @Kenneth Yim!

I will be at my rental getting the place ready for new tenants moving in Monday. I should be able to join. See you tomorrow!

@Theresa Harris

Yes, great point. Reaching out to my broker today to get an idea of the refi mortgage range. That would not be a good scenario if my payments outgrew the cash flow!

Hi @Nick Pastore.

This particular deal is in Peterborough. I know rents are going to continue to be great in this market. Not counting on appreciation but that will be the cherry on top.
