Welcome Michael!  Start by coming to our Bigger Pockets meetup in Pittsburgh next Wednesday Oct 13th, it's a great place to network and learn the local market.  And to ask EVERYONE for referrals when you are looking for a good realtor, accountant, contractor, plumber, etc.  My best contacts come that way.

Thank you, Rex! Can you please provide the details for the meetup when you have a chance?

Hey everyone!

I'm new to BP and a new investor. I currently live in South Florida but grew up in Pittsburgh and still have family/friends there (and am actually coming up to Pittsburgh this weekend for the next two weeks). My partner and I are looking to buy our first investment property back in the Pittsburgh area due to the crazy expensive South Florida market. Does anyone have any recommendations for how to build our network as newbie investors investing out of state (but also in an area we know somewhat well)? We are looking to invest in rental properties to start (preferably small multi-family, but also open to the right single family).

Thanks,

Michael
