@Dax Gurr

@Kurt K.

I have considered finishing the basement and renting it out to someone.  What would you recommend I should do to make it look presentable?  I understand most of the things required but, for example, how would I work around the heater?  Do I build a wall around it or what?  Any further info would be great!

Hey BiggerPockets community!  Can you guys help out a beginner?

Okay, this is the home that I currently reside in.  I purchased it in May as my primary residence and want to begin my investing career by house hacking.  My question for you guys is simply: what can I do to raise the value of the house and attract buyers?

I purchased it for almost $113,000, while the appraiser stated that it was worth $117,000.  I live in the 19136 area.  The house is right off of Frankford Avenue on a side street.  I am above Rhawn Street but below the Pennypack Creek Bridge.

Any and all information would be appreciated!  Also I have some more photos of the house if you guys need to see more.  Thank you!

@Laura Colangelo

The property is on 9th between Diamond and Susquehanna.  I wanted to turn it into two two bedroom apartments and one one bedroom apartment.

Here is a three story rowhome in North Philadelphia that I am considering purchasing.  It needs a lot of work and I can't view the inside of it until I buy it.  Would any of you guys take that risk?  What drew me to this property was not only its cheap price, but its proximity to Temple.  It is literally about 5 blocks away.  I think it would produce amazing cash flow if I rent each floor out to students once I'm done fixing it.  So I ask again, do you guys think it is worth the risk?

Hello,

How is the real estate market in Southern Jersey, especially around the Woodbury/Deptford areas?  I'm chiefly looking into multi-family units.

@Jeffery Stein  I have heard similar things about those neighborhoods.  Which do you think would be a better place to start for a beginning investor such as myself?

Hey everyone, I'm Michael.  I'm 21 years old and completely new to the field of real estate.  I have not yet purchased a property, but I am going to start soon.  I have a question or two for everyone here.

What is the market like in Philadelphia?  What are the hottest neighborhoods for rental properties?  For flips?

And finally, what is the best way for me to get started?
