Post: Save money on activation charges through CenterPoint Energy

Everyone-

I just wanted to share some information that I received through the CenterPoint Energy's Sales Manager in Louisiana/Mississippi. He forwarded me a copy of the Landlord Leave-On Agreement when dealing with transfering services from the tenant back to your name. I posted a copy of the Agreement under the resources tab. But, I am more than willing to send the PDF version to anyone who would like it.

Just email at [email protected] or shoot me a message on BP. I just wanted to share this with anyone and everyone who is a landlord and uses CenterPoint Energy.

Lease: I will scan and shoot you an email tomorrow morning. The leases I have are from local real estate companies that I used as a template to create mine. ( I would suggest getting with your Realtor also). My Realtor was more than willing to give a copy of his companies as were other individuals who I asked in this profession. Just bringing up to your acquaintances what your goal is has greatly helped me. As I have said before, people really do want to help.

I work full-time (McDonald's and Louisiana Tech) and I do this on the side. My two houses are in Bossier City. I haven't ventured off anywhere else. My goal is to continue to build my portfolio by 1 maybe 2 a year. I feel that would be realistic for me currently.

In Shreveport/Bossier properties there is quite a bit of competition (I'm sure as in any other market).

Are you looking to live in one of the units and rent the other three out? Do you have any other properties currently? What's your time-line for buying? Are you in real-estate as a profession?

Michael, I am a landlord in Shreveport, LA. I don't have any knowledge of specific state laws in Louisiana. If I had any questions I have contacted my Realtor in the past or the closing attorney that I have used in my most recent transaction offered to answer any questions I had. I highly recommend using the resources around you. You'll be surprised with the number of people who are willing to help you if you communicate openly.

I have reviewed in the past this document that you copied and pasted from the Louisiana DOJ. I find that the information in that pamphlet is very informative and relevant.

If your interested I would be happy to send you a copy of my lease that I use and/or also the lease that property managers ( in Shreveport/Bossier) let me review when I was constructing my own.
