Post: Looking to network with investors in Canada

Hi Steve,

Newer investor here. I recently moved to KW and I'd be happy to connect as I'm looking to build my network as well.

I mentioned in an introductory post this past week that my background is in Architectural Technology, and Construction Project Management. I would be able to consult on most things (ie: budgeting, scheduling, permitting, bidding, etc) before inspectors, designers/draftsman, contractors need to be involved.

Feel free to shoot me a message.

Regards,

Michael

Not because it's available.

I absolutely agree. There's enough content and money-making opportunities available to make your head explode. I would say narrowing my focus to a particular niche has helped immensely.

You can signup for free at borrowell.com to check your credit score/history. I'm sure there are other outlets as well.

I am at a similar point in my REI journey and researching creative ways to overcome financing in order to get started. Some avenues include credit unions, private money, seller financing, sandwich leasing, JV Partnerships. Also, if you have the capital commercial properties (5+ units) are an option to discuss with your mortgage broker. I believe the lenders evaluate the property's operating income rather than your personal income.

Greetings all,

I have been hovering around these forums for the last several weeks and decided that I better make my presence known if I'm ever going get out of learning the theory and put what I'm learning into action. I hope to bring value to others in the REI environment with my educational background in Architectural Technology and professional background as a Project Manager.

A little bit about my experience: Although outdated, I obtained my BCIN when passing the House/Small Buildings and Designer/Legal Ontario Building Code examinations. I still have the OBC binders to prove it! For the last 6 years I worked for a top tier Construction Management firm in Toronto specializing in office, retail and hospitality interior fit-outs and building repositioning. If you’re thinking of taking down a wall, ever need to know how to go about removing the façade from a building while it’s still occupied, or literally ‘raise the roof’ of a warehouse to create a mezzanine (and anything in between), I’m your guy.

I have been reading, listening, and watching to as much REI related content as I can over the last several months, and I recently participated in Keyspire's 3-Day workshop (between July 23-25). I'm building off the momentum from that workshop to start networking with like-minded individuals and build my real estate investing team. If anyone here has invested in Keyspire's more expensive offerings I would be interested to know your experience thus far. Ultimately, although I believe in investing in yourself there is too much free content available to commit thousands. What are your thoughts?

Personally, I am interested in rent-to-own, commercial multi-family (5+ units) and development projects. If you’d like to connect don't hesitate to reach out.

Ciao, Michael
