Whats up Marquis,

I'm relatively new as well, and this is something I've been wanting to do for a while. Just shadowing somebody in the whole deal/contract process. Apparently, you just have to try and increase your network. Meet people and create relationships to try and make it happen. Keep reaching out like this and opportunities are bound to come through. I just started studying to become a real estate agent, and I live in the Woodbridge area myself. If I come across any opportunities to network or work alongside an investor, we could meet up and discuss in detail.

Us new guys gotta stick together lol.

Hey Dion,

Nice to hear you have the fire burning inside to start investing, and the fact that you're a realtor is awesome. Major plus. I'm wondering though, I'm 22 years old and currently studying to get my license in Northern VA (Woodbridge). I'm assuming with you being a realtor for a while and working with investors, you would have the upper hand in getting investment properties right?

My goal as an agent is to work in real estate, get involved in the game, help others, but to ultimately have investment properties of my own as well, plus you have access to the MLS and have a good network surrounding you.

Are there complications of being a realtor to the point where its hard to acquire your own investment properties? Really curious

Hey BP community, I need some advice,

To begin, I'm 22 years old. I discovered my passion for real estate several months ago, and dove right in and started studying, reading books and listening to at least 50 podcasts so far. I plan on succeeding in this industry, willing to go through the ups and downs.

I'm currently in a non-ideal living condition right now, living in Woodbridge, Virginia in my mom's basement. I have a good amount of money saved up, and I want to start a new life in a new state, either North Carolina or Texas. I desperately want to move, just have to make the right opportunity happen. I feel like I know enough to start making some investing moves happen though. My first plan is to get a duplex or triplex and rent the remaining units out, then build off that with more rental properties, and probably dive into a little wholesaling later down the road.

I've heard those were good states to start investing in as well, I just want to know, should I put a lot of effort into networking and trying to look at properties in the Woodbridge/DC area, knowing I'm most likely leaving within a year? Or should I just focus on continuous studying until I make that move into the new area? What would you do if you were in my shoes?

Thank You!

@Account Closed I graduated with a sports management degree and a minor in business. I plan on getting involved with some type of real estate group up in the Woodbridge area. DC is about 45 minutes from Woodbridge but if I'm ever in the 757 area again, as I am a graduate from Old Dominion University, I'll definitely hit you up. Thank you

Hey BP community I need some help. I'm a 22-year-old recent college graduate who has a passion for learning about real estate. I'm thinking of getting into house hacking as my first investment, and continue on through rental properties. My current job right now is decent pay, but not guaranteed as it's a temp position, and I'm not learning anything as it's mostly labor work. I was unemployed for a while and this current job is basically week to week.

Currently living in my mother's basement, all I want to do is learn, network and help out as many people as possible, and possibly get a job that could dive me into the real estate field. I started studying to get my real estate license, as becoming a realtor may the route I need to pursue.

What would you guys do in my position? Should I wait to get a solid job so I can start efficiently saving for a multi-family property to house hack in? And what job would work best with diving into the real estate field while all I have is a sports management degree? I'm open to any feedback/opportunities

Thank You
