Sam Chaloen glad you made a good recovery. I'm currently a student and live in the Van Nuys area. PM me if you ever want to chat about real estate, I would love to hear your story of how you got started.

Welcome @Max Miller! I'm new as well but agree with the above posters that the podcasts are a great place to start. Everyone on the podcast has a different approach to real estate investing and can help you zero in on what you may want to start focusing on. See you around.

No time like the present @Davon Lowery !

Thank you for taking me down your career path Ali. I spent 6 years in the military before I decided to pursue this engineering thing. I think part of me feels that I may make the same mistake twice in my career choice but I won't know until I try right? Looking at the bigger picture learning/progressing is a goal of life and change is what fuels it.

I do know that real estate is the best investment vehicle and I'm trying to get an education on that right now. What was your favorite investment/real estate book you read when you were starting out?

Thanks for the welcome @Ali Boone . May I ask what made you leave your profession as an Aerospace Engineer?

Will do @Brandon Turner . Lived in the Port Angeles, Wa for 6 years while I served. After being in Los angeles I kind of miss all the rain out on the peninsula haha.

Thanks for the reply @Lenny Wilbourn . I have family in Wickenburg, Phoenix, and Globe. There are some really nice areas out there and prices look very favorable. Is that why you moved?

Nice to meet you @Chaz Reid . I served in the Coast Guard on active duty for 6 years. I'm currently serving in the reserves.

@Antonio Coleman I watched a few of the podcasts already. There is more information on here than I have time to read and listen to, but I will get to as much as I can. I have some spare time to listen to a podcast today, do you have any suggestions? The Grant Cardone podcast was great!

Hello everyone! My name is Methuselah Arnold. I've been looking around the site for a while now and after listening to and watching the webinar from last week I decided I need to take some action if I'm going to get serious about this aspect of my life. My immediate goals are to finish school and land a civil engineering job. Once those are accomplished my wife and I plan to invest in real estate. Until then I'm trying to figure out which direction to take our investing. The options seem endless and I'm having a hard time choosing one to focus on. My wife and I bought a condo last year using a VA loan. I couldn't pass up the no money down terms. Now that I've been reading here for a while I'm wondering if we made the wrong choice? We planned on living there for 4-5 years and then selling or renting out. When evaluating it as a rental it is cash flow negative so selling seems like the best option unless rents go up significantly in the next few years. Until that time comes I'm excited to learn as much as I can and happy to be part of the amazing BP community.
