Post: Tiny House Trailer as Airbnb?

Dear Ariel,

You've got that right. I've done alittle studing on the tiny house-AirBnB thing and you could be more correct about the patrons of the AirBnB loving unique and corky places to stay and they pay rather handsomely for the priviledge of staying .  Baton Rouge should like a good place especially at mardi graw ( I'm sure I'm spelling that wrong)  Also maybe Sturgis mc run. You might want to look in to where events like the aforemention happened and then advertise the tiny home near that event site and if you get a bite you could then find a temp site, if you cant find a site you can let the customer know it won't be available this year or whatever you decide to say, In this way you wouldn't be moving it unnessecarily and if you plan your calendar right it would minimize the number of moves you'd make with the tiny home,  It's just one girls thoughts best of luck to you

Hi all,

We have a vacation place a couple hours north of our main office.  Maybe 10 years ago a casino was put in, It was right on the freeway so to speak.  It wasn't like there weren't casinos with in 100 miles there were, but this one had it over the other ones because It took in to consideration the 3 most important rules of real estate, LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION,!!!! There was a study done that estimated that no less then 75,000 vehicles (mixed type) would roll pasted the casino each day and that was just going one way,  If your counting that's 150,000 vehicles a day.  Considering that this county is the 4 larges by land mass in California however it total population isn't but maybe 150,000 people for the entire county those were amazing numbers.  I point this out because not only would you probably want to take something like that in to account, you'd also want to take in to account if there be a place for big rig trucks to park overnight? Grab a bite at the buffet? Grab a shower at the trucker clubhouse and so on.  What you'd like to be able to find is how many people will the place employee and in relation to the population will people move there just to work for the casino?  If you believe yes then let me suggest you purchase the smaller homes, if the need work ( not a lot) then do it nicely as funds will allow, Looking toward the future of the casino expanding in the near future with a gold course or whatever.  If you put in hardwood type floors now and good wood burning stoves then these things won't have to be replaced before their time.  It wouldn't seem such an important thing really try and see where in relation to the freeway is this going to be,  And if you can look at the environmental impact report see if it gives a number about the vehicles that will be passing by every day,  Most of the casinos wont be local regulars like one might think,  If it's by the freeway there's were the bulk of the customers will come from and they will all need someone to make change clean stock food tend bar etc.,  those are YOUR pool of potential renters.  Just an observation and one girls thoughts, Best of luck to you.

Wow after reading the blog (after giving my first reaction  with out reading the blog I don't like to color my thoughts by what others blog on a subject)) I'm somewhat shocked that some people didn't "see" their tenants as people?!?! Did I read that right?  I'm really sorry and I know this won't be popular but as landlords we offer a service to a customer with out them we wouldn't be able to live our lifes as we see fit send our kids to a good college take those nice vacations drive those nice cars help our family out when needs be and so.  That's not to say that we don't work very hard for what we have or that we haven't earned every dime that passes threw our hand, it's just I'm a firm believer In that you can and need to be very firm when it comes to business which your rentals are you business, it never hurts to extend simply common human concern, If you came upon a wreck and there were people in the wreck you could just drive by with out helping.  I couldn't.  I'm just saying don't forget where the funds come from.  If people didn't rent we'd be out of business Just one persons thought.

Omg, I'm not sure what everyone else has blogged, But if it were me I would call HR at his work explain the situation, If he hasn't been to work since Friday, immediately call the police department and ask for a civil standby, explain to the police the situation they may be able to do a welfare check, which is them knocking on the door announcing themselves and if they get no answer they may choose to enter to check and make sure they man isn't suffering from some unforeseen medical issue.  It would be horrible if he had a heart attach or heaven only knows and is laying on his apartment floor, a person can only live 3-4 days without water. You could literally be saving his life.  If and when the law enters and doesn't find him, Then make a missing person report and mail off the the 3 day pay or quit or whatever it is in your area.  I wouldn't wait on this in case he's in some sort of distress. You won't sleep well until you know for sure.  You are all in my prays.

Sincerely

Melissa McGuire
