@Ehsan Rishat that is a great point to make sure we are following what the market and those around us are doing in terms of marketing strategy to see what may work best. I will have to do some more research into specific blogs and podcasts. Thank you for your input!!

@Curt Davis Sorry for leaving that out, we are looking more for flips in the area. However, if there is a good enough deal, buy and hold is definitely an option. We will check out Yellowletters.com. Thank you for your feedback!

@Andrew Syrios I appreciate your honest feedback. We have heard it used multiple times through the Bigger Pockets podcast. Some are successful and some are not, so we are definitely trying to figure out what may be the best option for the market we are looking at.

My boyfriend and I are looking to invest in the Pittsburgh area, where he is from, but currently live in FL. We are planning to invest out of state, but are trying to find the best marketing strategies for the area we plan to invest in. We are seriously considering direct mail marketing, but would love some feedback! What are some online sources you recommend using, as well as the typical dollar amount per letter for those sources?

Hello everyone!

My name is Megan Allmandinger, I am originally from Cedar Rapids, IA and am currently working as an Online Health and Fitness Coach in SE Florida. I have recently become interested in Real Estate investing along with my boyfriend, Lyle Fisher. I have been listening to the Bigger Pockets podcast, and am looking to continue learning more about both house-flipping and buy-and-hold properties, while networking in our community. Our plan is to purchase our first house in 2020 with the intent of house-hacking, and building from there to create long term financial stability and freedom.
