I love zillow! People diss it, but it's where I've found my current condo!

My boyfriend is a physician wanting to invest in real estate with me. What are some of the tax deductions he could benefit from, since he is unable to get school loan interest deduction?

I am thinking rental income landlord would work for him.

I generally feel bad for him, working so hard to complete medical school, he paid more in taxes last year than my taxable income :(

Thanks Mark, I work as a travel RN contract work in areas for 13 weeks, so I am off work right now trying to decide my options on my condo I'm renting in Indianapolis. I know there are 401k hardship loans. My stock and mutual funds are stagnant, so I am deciding if I want to move my money around to decrease these interest payments to banks. I am going to go down to 15 year loan on condo, decrease interest rate and HOLD And RENT. Then buy the next piece of real estate.

Has anyone taken out their 401k to put into rental property to decrease principal and interest? Thinking about doing this.

I am also reading Rich Dad"s cash flow quadrant. It's a sequel book. I'm 30, but I wish I had started in real estate earlier due to so many opportunities for investment. I've had a foreclosure now for 1 year I bought. There are so many opportunities, next up I am going for second home investment. PM me if anyone has properties foreclosures in Indianapolis. I don't have a real estate license because it is hard to pass. Somehow I passed nursing school first try, but failed my first real estate exam 😝.

Hey Karla, my realtor is Eric Forney. He secured my first foreclosure and got me the bid. I had to finance because I am still trying to to save up money with an FHA loan. I like northside of Indy, downtown sometimes just make sure the appraised value of home is 20-30% more IMO. I have chosen the condo route. Now, I am in Reno working as a travel RN, but continuing to build up cash for investments. My condo is rented by another travel RN. Indianapolis is a great market right now. And I know some people wouldn't agree with me, but I found my first foreclosure on Zillow:) The real estate photos on-line can be deceptive so make sure you actually see he property. Good luck!
