Hello! My company is looking for a new property management software. We are currently using Appfolio which was great while we were only in one market, now we are in 3 different markets and need something we think will better handle different markets with different property mangers in each market with different levels of permission for leasing agents, collection managers and so on.

I have reached out to Propertyware and received no response from my phone call and filling out a form on their website. This is concerning considering how unresponsive they are being while I am trying to buy their product, how attentive will they be once I am a customer of theirs?

Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mathew

Post: Californian wants to buy Ohio property - Entity help?

I am meeting with a local CPA to discuss options and the best way to go. I am hoping that she will tell me that I don't need to register in California. Although, considering I will be ideally receiving the cash flow as a resident I would think that is all California is worried about in regards to whether or not they can tax me?

Does it make sense, as far as asset/personal protection goes, to set up a Delaware LLC operating in Ohio (or any other state for that matter)?

Thank you for all the input.

Thanks @Jonholdman. I wasn't sure if since I am collecting the money while living in California that it also needed to be a California LLC.

I want to buy rental units in Ohio and I currently live in San Diego, CA. If I am keeping my 9-5 job and only collecting passive income, do I need to register/create a LLC in California and Ohio or just Ohio? My long term plans include investing in other states as well.

It is $800 to register with the Secretary of State in California each year, so if I can avoid that, that would be ideal.

Is this Droid app still in the "not yet but hope to soon" category?

Thanks George! I have been listening to the podcasts on my commute to work each morning. Unfortunately, my commute is only 45 minutes so I am left in suspense on the 15 minutes until my drive home. Maybe I should drive slower in the morning?

My name is Mathew and I am excited to find biggerpockets.com! I currently do not have much experience in real estate investing other than getting lucky on amazing appreciation value of the homes I have bought as primary residences in or near San Diego. I am planning to start actively investing and developing my portfolio of rental units and flipping units along the way either on my own or with the help of a partner or two.

I think I stumbled across biggerpockets.com while researching the flipping vegas education seminar.
