Post: Grants or scholarships for pre-license real estate agent course

Hi there! I have been wanting to get my real estate agent license for awhile now but I have been trying to find grants or scholarships out there that pay for the pre-licensing course required by my state and I have had no luck.

If anyone has any additional websites that you may know of that offer this kind of funding, please let me know!

P.S. I am looking for a grant or scholarship specifically because I don't want to have to pay back another loan.

Thank you!

How would someone that wants to get started in real estate start a goal and outline a plan?

How would someone who has even had experience in real estate start up a new goal and plan?

@David Edwards What is the process you would take on hiring an owners rep and where to start looking?

Before I start the process of building the apartment complex I need to know who I need to hire and what order is best in hiring them. Do I get the civil engineer first? The architect? Etc.

Could someone please come up with a list or checklist on who I need to hire and when? Many thanks!

@Bjorn Ahlblad ah okay...I will check with the city then thank you! I want to start off small since it’s my first one so I was thinking a Class B type with 12 unites and in the future if it’s a good idea, expand with more buildings!

@Bjorn Ahlblad Oh alright! Thank you again for this information! Is it just a general business license I need to get?

@Bjorn Ahlblad Thank you so much for replying and clearing this up for me! Are you referring to a property manager license that is required and inexpensive?

Thank you as well @Greg Dickerson for giving your answer and providing a lot more information I didn't even think about! When hiring a Civil Engineer what should I look for?

Hey everyone! I really want to build an apartment complex from the ground up next to a college that doesn't have anywhere for students and young adults to live besides a basement in a old raged home.

Before I go to the bank and discuss my options, do I need to have a real estate license or brokers license to do this? Or, once its built do I need any type of license to lease/rent out the apartments?

I have so many people telling me yes and so many others telling me no. Someone please help! Do I need a license or not?
