@Andrew Steffens

Can you give some insight on how the expenses are affected when the units are mixed like this? Does it hurt cash flow??

@Will Barnard

Thanks for your response I do appreciate it. How would I connect with buyers here without getting flagged for self promoting? Haha. The real estate meetups in LA have been nothing but people trying to sell me a course on flipping instead of networking. I’m trying to expand my network as we speak because sooner or later like all of us i’d want to be a featured guest on the bp podcast but we all start somewhere! thanks again

Hello wonderful people!

Im a 19yr old real estate apprentice working with family who are very embedded in the of Dallas/Fort Worth market and surrounding areas. I’ve been working with a contractor (a family member with 30+ years of contracting and real estate experience and shows me all the flips he’s done with the app CompanyCam) who comes across numerous individuals who are in search of “California investors” or “California deals” as they call it out there. With me being In California we came up with the idea that I point investors in his direction until i acquire my real estate license for California and Texas so I can actually represent buyers and sellers whether they be investors or just regular people looking for that perfect home. I get paid for referring the investor once they close, the investor gets his deal if he’s deemed it a sound investment(whether it be a rental or a flip etc.), and everyone becomes a bit more wealthy

My question is how do I go about finding investors in California that want to buy in the Dallas market? my family member said to me that it’s better to find investors with cash. He prefers them over hard money lenders. With me being fairly new to actually putting in action into my want of being a investor i just felt like Biggerpockets was the best place to ask. Any feedback or advice is greatly appreciated!! Have a wonderful day(:

@Jaron Walling

Thank you honestly!!

Yeah, regardless of what my current friends do i’m trying to build my savings and investment portfolio so when it comes time to buy my first property(when i’m around 21) i can really go in and hopefully have 5 properties by the time i’m 23.

Do you have any advice on finding a mentor ?

Hi I’m Max

So I have been into Real Estate investing since i was about 17. I’m currently 19 and have been searching for ways to get my feet wet in the real estate scene as early as possible. I do not have a mentor and none of my family owns any real estate, and it’s a daunting question every time i think of it but how do i start?

I currently work at starbucks and i am working on building my credit and saving for my first property after two years of taxable income. However, without a mentor or family with hands on experience it seems impossible to start out sooner than that and i’m VERY driven to start learning as soon as possible

what’s worse is i have NO friends in my age group or network that want to get into real estate or take investing of any kind serious( and i know my network is my net worth and that’s part of the reason i’m here (: )

Any suggestions or wisdom on where I can go from this? any type of response is greatly appreciated 🙏🏾
