@Andrew Reilly Hello Andrew I live in Maryland as well and have saved up about $10k as well. I’m new to the real estate investing side of things. I’m a licensed real estate agent operating in central Maryland. Let me know if I can help or maybe we can learn from one another.

New to the Baltimore area and would like to network with real estate investors.  Is this Meetup still active?

Thanks, in advance.

I haven’t purchased a property yet. But my goal is to secure one this year. Hopefully a duplex if I’m lucky.

Congratulations Ms. Yearwood and welcome to BiggerPockets. I’m a new investor as well. I’m currently a Realtor working in the Baltimore and central Maryland area. The world is yours.

I have a former client who is looking to lease her current home to her mom who qualifies for the Affordable Housing Program (Over the age of 65 years of age/making less than 50% of the median).  The former client is looking to purchase a new home in the area so that mom may be able to live an "independent lifestyle" in her twilight years.

Question:  Would this be a conflict of interest with the mom receiving financial assistance from the state to lease from the daughter?

This is my first question asked on Bigger Pockets and I hope this is the right forums to ask a "Realtor" type question.

Thanks, in advance.

Thanks, Jonathan,  I'm just starting out as well on the investor side of things.

To answer your question about purchasing power in the DMV, I heard this saying from a podcast "Live where you want and invest where it makes sense".  I would use the tools here to learn where you can get the best bang for your buck.  Learn the markets and set up your investment criteria.

I hope this helps....

Maurice
