Excellent points, and good call-out on HOAs. Thank you Manny for the extensive reading list, I'll be sure to check them out ASAP 👍

Thanks Jason and Min, appreciate the input. AirDNA is super helpful, already been playing with it. One of the challenges I can already see is understanding permitting and zoning restrictions for STRs depending on the market.

It does, thank you so much for the insight! I'll see what the outcome is and plan accordingly.

Hello all, I'm a long time listener to the podcast and finally deciding to jump into REI (great timing with interest rates, etc). But I figure there's no better time than now to start learning. I'm interested in STR but open to other avenues. Looking for recommendations for learning material you've found helpful. I'd also love any opportunities to add value while shadowing as I feel first hand experience is the best method to learn/grow/network. My 9-5 is in IT but I also dabble in software development and data analysis. Thank you, looking forward to both the challenges and rewards REI has to offer.

Quote from @Heidi Bowie:

Hi Matt,
I’d love to chat about it! The Chattanooga market for STVR has had many recent changes making it harder and more expensive to get permits. Did you have any specific questions?

Do you find it's worth the higher cost and additional hoops to jump through? I'm also curious how consistent the market is or if it's mostly seasonal / event driven.

Hi Heidi, welcome! I'm in North Alabama, and new to BP myself. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the STR Market for Chattanooga and surrounding areas.
