My multifamily property has cluster mailboxes.  Does anyone know whether I can, as the property owner, legally use one of the boxes as a business PO Box?  If permitted, I'd imagine I would need to work with USPS to create a "dummy" apartment number that would be recognized as my business mailing address for the property.  Does anyone know if USPS permits this?

I asked my attorney that very question, and she provided an almost identical response to Jessica Zolotorofe's.

Those reasons aside, I'm buying out of state (first time in this particular state) and this is my first time buying a property with more than 4 units that requires commercial financing. I'll also be unable to attend the closing in person. I tend to be an ardent DIY guy, but these factors combined with the reasons Jessica Zolotorfe stated make hiring an attorney worthwhile.

Apruv, thanks for the advice on legalzoom.  I'm going to take a look.  How you do you intend to sign the leases over at closing?  My attorney has proposed doing this, but it seems something that the property manager I plan to hire could easily do.

I'm preparing to close on an 18 unit residential building.  An attorney quoted $3,000 to represent me a closing.  Does this seem around what the fee should be?  Thanks!

Robbie, are you sure that taxes are only $9.17 per month? If they are that low, sounds like a great investment!
