Hello everyone this is my first time posting on BiggerPockets, but I've been a supporter for a while now! I'm a 27 year old Registered Nurse from Long Island who is looking to start his REI career having saved up some money. After listening to many podcasts/reading numerous books to better prepare my self, I've narrowed my current area of focus to house hacking or SFH in the area. As you know our market is quite expensive, so any advice/direction would be greatly appreciated. Also I'd love to chat and connect with people in the Long Island NY area! Please feel free to PM me here. Thank you in advance!

Best,

Mathew Lauchner

I'd honestly love to hear form anyone who's successfully house hacking in Long Island or NY in general. Have you made a post that's more deliberate like "House Hacking In Long Island, Please Help!"? That'll get peoples attention. Also make sure to put the city so people can do a local search.

Also, how did you come to the conclusion that House Hacking is the right investment strategy for your market?

Hey Scott, you've made some good points here. I'm not convinced that house hacking in my local market is the best option anymore after doing more research and networking. I've broadened my view to out of state investing, honing in on landlord friendly states. Any advice/direction that would help me to get started would be amazing, thank you!
