Quote from @Scott Mac:

In my opinion, repaints like that (sprayed or brushed) are for class C (and some B's) and below.

It is sprayed by tradesmen who specialize in re-painting kitchen cabinets.

If you use something like Sherwin Williams Super Paint (or even Emerald) Satin, or Benjamin Moore Ultra Spec Satin, it might no last as long as the pro-painter applied paints which have some kind of hardener in them.

That being said, some tradesmen can do really nice work (with a lot more labor hours charged than on a standard rental unit respray):

Will something like this be that "High End" look you envision--(???) Maybe. maybe not.

Can you paint the Mona Lisa as your first painting (???) or will it be less than anticipated (???)

Try washing a door with Murphy's oil soap and see if it look more "new", or "new enough" to re-use, and maybe think about just working with the cherry or whatever color the manufacturer put on.

Also if the cabinets are not luxury to start with, the finish probably won't make them so, as because as others have said, they lack the special slow close drawers, dovetails, special cabinets, wine rack, moldings, etc... No silk purse from a sows ear.

And Home Depot sells white cabinets...and has a charge card.

Good Luck!

 This is great advice, thanks!

Hi there!

I recently acquired a set of old kitchen cabinets and cupboards. I would like to turn them into luxury style white cabinets. Does anyone know how to do this or does anyone have learning resources I can look at?

I looked at a few YouTube videos and my current (and inadequate) process is sanding the cabinets, priming them (white) multiple times, spraying white chalk paint, and finally adding a few coats of high gloss polyurethane. I used high density foam rollers for priming and added floetrol to avoid roller lines. I did this on a test door and the results were not bad but it didn't look luxury or professional! It's not smooth and one can easily tell that it is just a plain painted cupboard door. Any advice?

Post: Business In Co-Hosting Airbnb's?

Greetings Everyone!

This is my first post and I am very excited to learn from, and meet, new people.

My name is Mason, I just graduated from SUNY Albany, I currently live in Albany and I work at a property management company. I have been interested in real estate for a few years now and I want to start working hands-on in the field.

For a portion of my actual job I manage an Airbnb. I would like to expand on this skill and create a business that co-hosts Airbnb's in the Capital Region. I do not yet have the resources to own real estate and turn it into an Airbnb which is why I will focus solely on co-hosting. Essentially, I would be taking care of the bookings, unit turns, etc.

I am looking for advice on how to find people that would be interested in creating a partnership and using a co-hosting service. Any additional tips, learning resources, or advice would also be greatly appreciated!

Best,

Mason H
