I borrowed form my 401k for a down payment. Its great since all of the interest goes right back to your 401k.

You can run a report from their website of all of the work done and costs, but it all seems to be logged in REALLY late. I once got a $40 fee for snow removal about a month after the last snow fell. And there is work done without my permission.

It seems like half of my rent goes to maintenance for this multi unit. I have 2 other condos near my house that I manage since it so close and I probably need to repair something about once a year, if that. But here, seems like there is an issue every other week. Im wondering does it really need to be fixed or is it being done since they get % of repairs done??

I ask for pics of work done, but never get any. And again, its so hard to get a response form any of them. So I think Im ready to move on.

My new problem is that all the property management companies I call never respond back. So thats not a good first impression.

I use Jakobson Management. Again, it seems like they are doing a good job (as far as I know) on the tenant side, I just feel there is a disconnect on the ownership side. Their communication is flaky IMO.

Is this the same company you use?

I'd rather not say.  I don't feel comfortable giving out the company name.

Thank you Nathan, I did ask most of those things, but I never asked for references. I'll do that next time.

Ive not, but I guess I should. I always feel that when you complain that service may get worse.

Hi Im not happy with my current  property manager. I've had them for one year now with my first multiunit property. They are not responsive, they rarely inform me of maintenance charges and the are slow to bill and pay me my rent. I'm not in Kzoo, so I don't have the opportunity to stop by and see their work. But it seems like the tenants are taken care of. Am I expecting too much? Does anyone have any recommendations for property mgrs in Kalamazoo?

Thanks!
