Hello everyone,

As the title suggests, I have a vacant unit located in Pawtucket Rhode Island. I'll be finishing up the light renovations on the unit soon (it didnt require much) and I was wondering where you guys post your vacant units? What websites do you recommend, and what websites do you tend to stay away from? Thank you!

@P McGee

Congrats on your first property man! I’m literally in the same boat as you. I bought my first house hack (3F) a couple months ago in Pawtucket and I’ve been learning new things and fumbling along the way as well.

I’ve had some trouble finding good contractors for jobs as well but I’ve been using thumbtack and getting referrals. I think also because it’s the holiday season it’s also a bit harder to schedule the workers.

I plan on checking out the Rhode Island real estate investor group (rireig) as a place to network and grow. I’ve heard good things about this group. Their next meeting is Thursday Jan 7th. You can also check out their website as well.

Again congrats on your first property!

Hey Jordan good luck with your REI. Its a blessing to have a family member who has done well in RE to help you out. As everyone has mentioned he's definitely wise and he's someone you should listen to. Im still setting myself up to purchase my first property, and one of my main concerns is if it will cash flow well after doing the analysis on it. As @Kyle Ingram mentioned, you dont want to buy a property and focus solely on appreciation. Appreciation should be the "icing on the cake" so to speak when purchasing. Also, I agree that "The book on Rental Property Investing" is a great read since you want to get into Buy and Hold Investing. Im almost done with the book myself. Again best of luck to you.
