Megan. I just looked up my State laws again and it looks like Virginia just incorporated Series LLC's into it's approved entities, so I may be set after all! Thanks again for suggesting that, as it was one of the ways I had wanted to go for quite some time, but was hesitant about having to use other states to do so!

Megan,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response.  I really appreciate it!

Our state (Virginia) doesn't seem to allow Series LLC's, so that appears to be an obstacle (at least from what I have researched). I have a little trepidation with establishing a Series LLC outside of my state, but I know that many investors use other states for a number of items, and especially asset protection. If my state truly doesn't allow Series LLC's, what would you recommend as my next best alternative? Thanks again!

Mark

I have multiple properties that are owned by a singular LLC. In my research, it seems that transferring that they should probably be held in separate LLC's. However, my question is, would I still receive the same asset protection in transferring them now as I would if I had put them into separate LLC's originally? Secondly, if it is still a smart move transfer them into separate LLCs, should I dissolve the original LLC that held the properties to make sure there is no connection between them?
