Again thanks for the replies. I was thinking finance but was not sure if there was anything I might be missing.

@Ndy Onyido can you please elaborate? Not sure I get what you are saying but have a feeling I need to understand.

Thanks for the replies. My gut was telling me finance so hopefully I'm on the right track.

I'm getting ready to buy my first property. Is it better to pay cash even if it will take almost all my cash or is it better to put say 20 to 30 percent down and finance the rest just to have some back for a rainy day?

What I was looking at is a place that currently has a tenant in place so I guess it would be concidered turnkey.

@ Darrin Carey Hey if you want to fish with me all you need to bring is yourself and be willing  to share some real estate knowlege. If you get up north next spring or summer don't hesitate to get a hold of me.  Maybe we can do some deals\networking and catch a few Walleyes while we are at it.

@Brandon Sturgill Duplexes,Triplexs and Quads. A friend who got me interested in REI told me that the more Families you can put under one roof the better of you are.

Interesting enough I just bought a book on that very subject. Perhaps he has read that book as well but I believe he has been investing longer than that book has been out.

Hi Dell, I might take you up on that.

Why don't you like that business?

Thanks for the welcomes.

@Chris Martin I'm looking in Lorain and Erie countys. I should have a boat in the water when you get here so if you want to fish let me know. Love those Lake Erie Walleyes.

Hello eveyone,

My name is Mark and I live in Vermilion Ohio. I'm new to REI. The only property I have bought to date isn't likely to make me any money but it will provide a nice place to build a retirement home. Though I'm sure I could flip it for a profit.

I have been lurking here for about a week or so and had to get my account fixed before I could post.

I'm happy to have found this place as I have been doing research on the internet for a little over a year and have come to realize that the best way to get involved with REI is to learn from people who have once been where I'm at.

I'm 53 now and wish I would have been smart enough to have done this a long time ago. I'm hopeing if this works out well it will be a good way to supplement my retirement.

I'd like to get into some buy and hold for rentals to start off. Flipping is also a interest of mine but I think I'd perfer to get a few rentals under my belt first.

If there is anyone local who would like to help, meet or just talk let me know.
