@Lance Hitz, Not to keep blowign up the thread, but anothe rone i just read that was really impactful for me was A More Beautiful Question by Warren Berger. it discusses the huge importance of questions in life, and hemakes a pretty compelling argument for questions being the new currency of the future. the Why/How/What if construction he uses in the book is worth the price of the book in and of itself! kind of refreshing in a world full of people tyring to give you the answer to everything.

@Lance Hitz yep! Read Cals books a while ago. Really enjoyed them and wanted to reread them when I listened to that podcast!

Great suggestions! I have a lot of books to check out now. One book I’ve read lately that really had a huge impact in how I see personal development is Atomic Habits by James Clear. Persuasive, actionable, and just a really good way to set your environment up for inevitable success! His website is pretty incredible too. To add a little something different to the conversation... what reading lists or funnels do you all use to decide what to read next? Brain Food from Farnam Street is an awesome weekly one, and Ryan Holliday’s is pretty interesting as well. That list is emailed monthly.

@Nathan Killebrew great advice! So what do you typically say to get to that point? Something like “What has got you really excited right now?” Or just simply, “what are your goals?”

@Paul Barbeau

That's perfect man. Thanks for that! I may start sketching up some ways to do this myself in the VA Beach area!

Paul, Thanks for the info man. Why do people tend to dislike it? And specifically, do people tend to use this as a relatively low-cost experiment to see if they actually like being landlords? Or is this typically the only strategy they follow?

Morning everyone,

Hope you’re having a good day! I am just starting out on my investing journey and have jumped into the networking game. I know that building relationships and connections is far from a formulaic process, but I think there’s some value in thinking of new ways to ask questions in a way that is different from the same old “where do you work” variety. What are some good questions/statements that you all have used to make deeper connections with people when meeting them for the first time?

Morning everyone,

       So I have been slowly starting to get my plan together for my real estate ventures, but I was talking to a family member the other day and they mentioned the concept of sub-letting a rented space for Airbnb. I inititally wasn't interested, but after thinking about it, it sounds like a great way to experiment with managing a property without investing a lot of initial capital to find if I like it, and then transition to buy-and-hold. Additionally, if I played my cards right, I would be able to gain enough capital to buy my first property. Has anybody pursued this as a lead in into buy and hold? or is this a too simplistic way of looking at it?
