When I find my first investment property, I'm thinking that house hacking would be great idea seeing as that I still live with my mom and its about time for me to move out. I would just like to hear other people's experience of house hacking such as what type of property it is, did you personally like living in the property also what was the neighborhood like?

I'll be attending a local REIA meet-up on the 19. In the meantime I'm reading books, listening to podcasts, watching videos etc. However, I feel like I should be doing more. Is there anything that I could be doing such as going to my local bank and discussing financing options or should I just wait until the event to get advice for what's best for me ?

@James Holland were you fearful in when you purchased it or were you confident in knowing what you were doing ?

I'm just curious because I'm only 19 and I've been hearing that people wish that they would have started sooner. Also what was your first deal SFH, Condo, Multifamily, etc. I just want to know that it can be done regardless of my financial status.

Kurt Hines Thanks for the advice, I know that in order to be successful I have to be social with others more experienced than I am. I'll take your advice and practice my approach. Good luck to you as well.

@Colby Poe Welcome, you'll really like it here. Just the little time I've been on here people have already reached out. I found out through BP that there is a meetup in Troy for anyone involved in real estate. If you look under the community tab you will see networking events. Then you can search in your area where there will be any kind of networking event. Hope this helps and best of luck to you
