I'm looking for the best place to find a foreclosure deal in Chicagoland. I can't do the legwork work involved in direct mail, door-to-door, etc. I'm talking, easy, amateur hour finds. Thanks!

I worked as a leasing agent in Chicago. When multiple applications for an apartment were filled out, my company always advised landlords to accept the first application that was filled out with an acceptable credit and background check. This philosophy was viewed as the only sure-fire way to avoid a discrimination lawsuit.

However, students are not a protected class, and landlords frequently denied rental applications from potential tenants because of this.

I have a few rental properties and work full-time. Managing them is extremely doable. The most time consuming part occurs when the properties are changing tenants. During this time period you have to worry about listing your property, screening tenants, move-in and move-outs, etc. However, once all of this is done, turn cruise control on. Small things will pop-up, but these things are very manageable.
