I have an offshoot of the original question. When someone has multiple LLC's, are they each given unique names? How does that work?

No advice, but I just wanted to say "Hi Robert!!" That's an awesome first investment. I'm still trying to educate myself, but I'm hoping to get our first investment property in the next 6 months. I'll have to pick your brain about your 4 plex. Hope you're doing well!!

So, second part of my question would be, what is the best way to get my license? I know a lot of local agencies offer free classes, but that requires becoming part of their agency. How do I go about taking the required classes without being associated with an agency?

I'm brand new to the world of real estate investment. I'm still just in the "educating myself" stage. I asked a couple of investors I knew if they thought it would be good to get a real estate license and they said affirmatively "NO!" They said because of "disclosures"...like it was a dirty word. What do they mean by that and is an RE license advantages or not??
