I decided not to go with Ring. The monthly subscription and unreliable wireless connection made it a no deal for me. I have to add that I felt the Ring cameras would attract attention of burglars because they're pricier than other cameras and burglars can make a buck out of selling them. DC government reimburses up to $500 for camera surveillance system after it's registered with the DC Police.

I'm thinking about the self close hinges. They're a pain when one wants to carry grocery bags inside. I have seen an intercom system that allows tenants to see whose at the front door and open the door from inside of the apartment. The one I looked into is Video Intercom System Multi-Tenant/MT-Series by BEC Integrated Solutions. Have you had any experience with these?

The price looks reasonable.

I have a rental two unit building which has a main entrance door that tenants tend NOT to shut because the door opens either by key or someone physically opening it from inside which is a hassle for the the upstairs tenant. I want to fix this and increase security. I want to have a doorbell that any apartment's code (3) is entered it rings that persons phone (3-5) and the recipient of the call can open the door using his/her phone. Video would be a plus. I also want to add a camera on the side of my property to record trespassers.

I'm looking at Ring doorbell now. But I don't know if Ring can be used to open door for 3-5 different people (phone numbers). Does anyone know?

What are you investors or property managers using that is working for you?

@Michael Kinsella Hi I’ve received a pre-approval letter from 5arch funding. I don’t know how legitimate they are. Do you have any information about them? Do you know any investor that has worked with them?

Hi guys. Does anyone have a rental investment in Harpers Ferry, WV? I'd like to know how the rental market is there? The demographics says the population of Harpers Ferry is 281 people! If I fixup a 2 bedroom apartment in Harpers Ferry would I be able to rent it out for $1000 utilities included if I list it 1st of May? Where do most of the renters in Harpers Ferry work? (I'm trying to follow the job market) Do they commute to Virginia?

Hi. I heard the eviction laws are also lenient towards landlord in WV. I'm comparing it with DC which is almost impossible to evict a tenant and one cannot schedule the time it takes to evict.

@Timothy Doenges How's Shepherd University? Is it growing like WVU is too?

Thanks @Alina Trigub. If you could give me a link to some material that explains a few different structures I think I will get a better sense.
As a matter of fact I’m looking for a good experienced real estate attorney in Maryland Virginia area.

Dear Frank @Frank Chin do normal insurance companies provide this credit insurance for that you mentioned or some other special company? The insurer does an annual audit of the property owner or property management company?

My brother (Rez) has a real estate investment company with a partner of his (Sam) which basically bought multi-family units and condos, repaired and rented them out. Income is earned from the rents. They own 13 units at the moment. I own 4 units. We want to form a partnership that benefits all three of us and allows us to raise money ($2 million) perhaps in the form of an equity fund. However, my brother wants to play a limited partner role, so Sam and I will be playing the general partner roles. Sam has a full time job and will help part-time. I have time and can make this my full-time job if the pay is at least $5,000 a month. What type of partnership should we form so that our interests are aligned and different roles and amount of responsibility is recognized? Do you know who can answer such a question?
