@Julie Toh, yes it absolutely is more exciting!  Mutual funds are incredibly boring.  Congratulations on your success in Vancouver real estate!  I am finding that getting to the second property is going to be more challenging in regards to financing, I think that is pretty common.

 Hello!

@Justin Crawford, That would be amazing, please forward me both.  I am sending you a direct message as well.

@Randy Molland, thank you for the words of encouragement! Yes, adaptability and flexibility seem like very valuable qualities in the real estate investment world.  I would love to have the details of the unit in Victoria you are referring to and also the information of your accountant.  Cheers!

Hello Everyone!

Have been on Bigger Pockets for a little while but haven't been very active as of lately. Living in Vancouver and have one investment property in Vancouver that is very close to cash flowing but not quite there! Did a BRRR - (Buy, renovate, rent, refinance). Was hesitant to purchase far away from me and so this is the strategy I went with. Strongly considered some properties in Abbotsford along the way. Now looking to move on to the next steps of investing in something new again with cash flow as the goal!

Looking to move outside of the Vancouver market of course because it is very unlikely to find a cash flowing property here.  Just starting to do some research in Victoria and Abbotsford.  Also interested in vacation properties and Airbnb!

@Dan Zupancic sending you a message with some questions I have about your current properties!

Getting to be close to tax time, does anyone have a recommendation for a CPA that has experience with real estate investors? Open to working with them remotely if out of the Vancouver area!

Nice to be in touch with other local BC investors!

@Kris Mcfarlane sounds like you are making it work but are hustling hard to do it! Thank you for this information, I will definitely be doing some more deal analyzing in the near future to get a better feel for what is out there. I am currently working on building up my capital as I have no where near 100k sitting around haha. So will likely not be pouncing on anything right away. But let's keep in touch!

I really liked finding out how many doors I needed to reach my freedom number! Assuming that they would be $100 per door, hopefully a bit more. But it really put a tangible number in my mind! 25 doors :)

Hello everybody!

I am a new member to the bigger pockets community but have been reading and listening to BP material for a number of months now.  My professional background is in nursing and I continue to work as a registered nurse part time.  I have always been interested in working with and helping people and creating meaningful relationships.  I am very excited to start my real estate investing career and get closer to creating financial freedom.  I am currently living in Vancouver but have recently moved from Edmonton.  I know that building a portfolio in the lower mainland wont be the easiest of tasks but I am up for a challenge!

Currently seeking to be a sponge and fill my brain with all of the knowledge I can about real estate investing,  more specifically buy and hold rental properties.  I am signed up for a couple local meetups for January 2016 and am ready to start the year with a bang!
