@Dan Ruiz I worked with them for a short time. I would say if 10k feels like a lot right now, then wait until you feel more comfortable. I don’t currently have any properties and so for me at this moment it wasn’t a good fit.

@Tisha Conner I signed up with them on a Friday and decided to cancel on Monday so they had not secured any credit for me. I’m grateful I didn’t, because I saw in the cancellation policy that they would close all credit they opened for you (which would harm your chances of upping your personal credit limit). Good luck, I found the process of canceling with them somewhat painful.

@Tom S. Thank you! I’m planning on applying for Discover and Amex, but want to do it several months a part so as not to alarm lenders (they worry you are in financial straits if you do it all at once). Yeah I was shocked at how easy it was to get approved through CapitalOne, I’m grateful I have focused on building my credit score since I was young.

I agree it’s an overly complicated way to do RE investing. I’ve been working on building relationships with hard money and private lenders instead.

Hi Tisha!

I have a mentor in Eugene who, when I asked them about whether they thought going with this program was a good idea, made me realize that I don’t need it at this point in time.

I ended up expanding my personal credit by $8,000 on my own. And I'm planning to get business credit through my LLC I'm setting up. So it felt like a waste of capital I could be putting towards my investing.

It took me a month to cancel. I had to call for two weeks before they said they would cancel. Then I had to call again to verify it was actually canceled. They finally confirmed they were sending me a check after three weeks and then it arrived in the mail on July 1st. But it took a long time, and a lot of persistence. I’m grateful I decided not to go with them. I feel capable of increasing my credit limit on my own.

Hi BP folks!

I recently signed up for Fund&Grow. I'm looking for someone to partner with someone on the membership. As a young investor the up front fee is a little much for me to swallow at $4,000. However, if I can find someone who wants to join and split the fee with me before June 30th then it would be only $2,000 for me and $2,000 for you.

I was referred to join Fund&Grow by a business partner. They are a legitimate company that helps you access 0% lines of business credit and help increase your personal credit score.

My Stats

  • 750 credit score
  • I have 5,900 available to me in personal credit

Because of my low level of personal credit, my program will be 18 months instead of 12 with the first 6 months being dedicated to increasing my personal credit to 20k so I can become eligible for a business line of credit.

If you have been thinking about joining Fund&Grow or are looking for creative financing please PM me. I don't want to pay the full price and you shouldn't either! Partner with me and we can both benefit from this amazing program.

Also you may notice that other forums state the fee at being $3,000, but that was with the Morris discount and I believe they have increased their price from a year ago for the membership. Thank you!

@Zack Korenstein I recently signed up with Royal Legal Solutions for their "Free LLC" and monthly office plan ($49 a month). Which if you get an LLC with them you are required to either pay a yearly compliance fee ($200) or a monthly office fee which is supposed to include access to their legal and tax advice.

I initially talked to Eduardo (mentioned in another post) who fielded me to Tom where I paid $150 for a consultation I did not need at that point in time (although Tom assured me I could talk to him and redeem the consultation once I was in need of his services). I then started working with Crystal who is awesome and answered all of my questions.

I will say they appear to prefer to work with me via email versus over the phone as I set up an appointment with my assigned customer service agent and she cancelled the appointment. Then I called her and she told me she preferred to receive inquiries via email. So now I'm waiting for her to hopefully get back to me via email. Needless to say I am a little concerned about the communication. I signed up two weeks ago and only learned today that the process for the LLC takes 6-8 weeks. I'm hoping they will be more transparent with me in the future. I doubt I will ever get to work with Scott although I do love his podcast. I can keep you updated on the progress of all this if you'd like.

Hi Katie!

Thank you for the recommendation. I was just looking into them, so it’s good to hear from another source that they are a good company.

My best,

Hi BP folks!

I'm looking into working with a property manager in the Eugene, OR area. I am a newbie investor (no deals yet), but working on building my team early and analyzing the market.

Does anyone have recommendations for Property Management Companies in Eugene?

Are there any companies that I should absolutely avoid working with? I started looking at Property Management companies via Google Maps and was appalled by many of the 2 star ratings.

Thanks in advance!

@Jay Hinrichs Thank you for explaining that piece, I’ve been trying to wrap my head around how the Oregon system works. I’m glad to hear that real estate has worked well for you and your family. I’m excited to be entering the industry!

@Mathew Wray Thank you for the tip! I’m definitely going to use OnlineEd for my pre license education. I really appreciate your response. Your post inspired me to apply for the Keller Williams in Eugene.

I can’t thank you enough!

@Bob B.

Thank you for the recommendation! I completely agree with you and am looking to be independent/entrepreneurial so being an RE Agent feels like a good fit! Yes, I’m definitely looking for the gasoline effect.

Also, I would love to grab coffee sometime! I’m in Portland a lot even though I’m currently based in Eugene. Let me know when would be a good time for you.
