Thanks for your input.  I saw some at Lowes for $10 sf !!  If I use the laminate ones thats $5 sf.    Real barn wood would be ideal if you can get it.

I think Im watching too much "fixer upper" on hgtv !  she uses stuff like this

Is anyone using barn wood or designer wall planks for an accent wall on flips?

Here is a link for some laminate ones I saw  http://swisskronousa.com/product/wp03-weathered-barnwood/

The house we are on right now is a cool finish.  White cabinets, white trim and gray on the walls.  The laminate flooring is a gray/tan mix.  This look seems to be real popular right now.  I definitely see the advantages to getting a "system" going where the choices are already made and we dont spend alot of time picking out everything.

@John Mathewson I really like that idea!  That way we do have a little bit of flexibility with our choice for the house.

Read J Scotts book on flipping houses and learn your market, learn your market, learn your market.   You have to know a good deal when you see it and be ready to act on it.

So we are on our 3rd flip in the last 12 months and plan on stepping up the volume somewhat.  How many of you guys/gals use the same finishes on every house.  Im talking using the same cabinets, countertops, plumbing fixtures, flooring, tile, paint colors.

To me it would just make the project go a lot smoother.

Now for what my other half thinks!!  She has the opinion that every house is different and she wants to pick out all that stuff on every house.

What do you guys do?

So I just made an offer on a hud home to rehab and flip. It has a wood stove that was installed when they converted the garage to another living room. Should i leave it in place or remove it? Keep in mind this is in a suburb of Syracuse,NY so winters are very cold here! Also I would call this a somewhat low end neighborhood (not a war zone) with ARV being around $80-$85K when complete.

I am also in Syracuse and have some contacts.  We primarily fix and flip.

Who is hosting this meeting at Colemans on 2/2/17 ?

Looks like a great project and you definitely have it all planned out.  If you can make $40k on that house then that would be great and more in line with what I would expect investing that much money.  In my experience $20k profit on flips can be made on much less expensive homes than that.

The floor joist timbers are 4ft apart.  Gonna be a real pain to install fiberglass under them.  What about putting insulating foam board on the foundation walls to insulate the whole crawl space instead?
