Leslie, as you say, Management is everything, no matter the type of rental. This is important anyway, no matter in which field. I think you need to have a bit of luck to meet the right people too...

Hey Sebastian, thanks again for the answer.

I haven't watched Simpsons episodes in a long time either - otherwise I might remember in which episode this happened...maybe when Mr. Burns wanted to buy Cuba? No idea anymore! :-D And yes, no wonder we cannot remember in which episode it happened. But with 700 episodes it's somehow understandable, isn't it? ;-)

Yes, winter can be quite nice, too, but I prefer to live my life outside ;-P And an open air cinema like the one would have with the C-Seed TVs has something special about it as well…;-) Garden parties, followed by a movie night. Oh, I miss summer time already now! :-)

And actually TVs have become better and better lately. However, with such a big screen and such a good quality you can be sure that you will be equipped with a top-of-the-line device for the next years ;-)

My brother has now seen a few properties and one which he liked quite well. He will probably buy it. Me and my wife prefer to save the money and then invest in something that we like and where we feel comfortable as well… my brother’s property won’t be big enough for two families…

Hey Sebastian, thank you for the answer.

I don't know if I have ever seen a waterfall IN A house somewhere in this world, but when I think of an entrance with a small waterfall, I immediately think of a Simpsons episode where a billionaire had such a house :-D I can't remember exactly, but as far as I know, it was NOT Mr. Burns house… any ideas? :-P

And no, I did not grow up near the sea or a lake - unfortunately! But in my childhood we spent most of our vacations by the sea and that was always wonderful. I love the water and wish I had my own little beach house somewhere. :-)

I also spend a lot of time outdoors, but now, when it's colder and darker again, I'm also looking forward to relaxing during the afternoons at home and reading a book or watching a movie with my sweetheart. So I make the best out of the cold period… although it would be fine if winter would last only one month… ;-)

Well, in my opinion, the bank is legally obliged to monitor such transactions and to report them if necessary. After all, these are potential lost tax revenues for the state. It looks like a gift and there are allowances for this; above a certain threshold gift tax is due…I can only advise you to be honest and to report this to the tax office if necessary (it could even be that you have to report a gift, even if no tax is due... please read the legal text carefully). It is quite possible that the bank is allowed to retain the money and you are not entitled to any interest. Especially if the suspicion is confirmed. Or you just ask the bank anonymously what would happen if you got 100.000$ transferred.

Hello Sebastian, thank you for the answer. Hahah that sounds like an exciting story. Owning a tower and a castle would be nice as well, true…;-) As I’ve already mentioned above, I am very much into such extraordinary things. So my house wouldn't just have four walls with several rooms inside. It would look a bit more spectacular in my case ;-) But I would definitely build a small water park on my property…that’s a must haha...I love everything that has to do with water...maybe with a small waterfall in the entrance area of the house as well…? That could look nice…Ok, now it becomes too much. :-) And yes, a 200" big TV would be nice too. ;-) But only if the picture quality is good enough...but then for sure you can call me and we'll watch the whole Lord of the rings trilogy on the same day :D I will bring popcorn haha

Definitely make sure and see an assessor. One of my friends thought they could save the money, because their father has built/rebuilt it himself. Unfortunately, the costs they have to pay for undetected water damage and various other defects and many broken windows were much much higher. So also check all windows!

Why would one need a huge house? If I were so rich, I would rather buy a smaller house, but with a nice garden, a big swimming pool and then some small things around! :D My girlfriend would certainly want some animals - one or two horses as well, obviously heheh ...But honestly, if I were so rich that I could afford everything, then I would only buy very special things - things that hardly anyone else has. Then you can really let your creativity run wild. Something like a sauna, a swimming pool, TVs and so on - but everything would be different from what you normally know... so I would attach great importance to technology and design…well, maybe it will come to that one day... dreaming is permitted!! :D

Hello to all.

My girlfriend was recently invited to a dinner party in a very large luxury property...it was the estate of her boss' brother. He is a businessman...but I guess her boss doesn't have a bad house either. ;-) Anyway...she was so enthusiastic that it was so beautifully furnished, everything was well designed, there were great features and a large entertainment system (with its own small cinema!), sauna, steam bath, and so much more that I can’t remember anymore :D ... but as an absolute highlight (for me)…there was even a private indoor swimming pool! Outside there was a small pond as well... I was quite surprised when she told me about this huge property... unfortunately she didn't take any pictures - it would be a little bit rude to take pictures in a strange house, wouldn’t it...

However, I love such properties and I wish I had one too - well, I might dream about it haha! I like to get to know the one or other furnishing idea. Some things can be realised in your own house as well. So, I wanted to ask around for your ideas and experiences. Maybe you've already been on a large luxury property and you were impressed by the huge house as well? What were the most interesting features and things you got to know? I am curious about your answers! I hope that the one or other idea can also be implemented at home...then my girlfriend will hopefully rave about our home in the same way :D

Thanks in advance.

Hey guys, thanks for the answers! I'm also thinking about investing in the house...so my brother can get a bigger house and we can go on holiday there and have enough space...Is it better to buy a bigger house right away? So that it is more profitable?

Mike Lambert, thank you for the explanations. I never thought that you could pay in USD actually…that wouldn't be such a bad way to get around the bank fees, right? And yes, a foreign exchange company would certainly be better for currency conversion than the banks...it's only when you're paying such large sums that you feel a little insecure, isn't it? It is much safer to exchange your money in a bank…at least I feel so…

Darius Ogloza, oh great to hear! I do not know Ajijic at all. The photos on Google look really nice. Is it touristic there? If not, maybe that explains the good deal? My brother would like to buy a house in Puerto Vallarta...I am also not against to invest in a house near the sea ;-)
