@John Van Uytven  Glad to hear you are from the area. Did you choose to invest in those areas because of the colleges? I am actually from Newton so I'm going to start here and see what I can find but of course things are limited here. 

Few things about myself. I work full time 7-5 everyday at a job I enjoy. I am getting married in 1 month to an amazing lady. And just looking for some extra income throughout the year but mainly focused on retirement. Looking to retire early so i can enjoy life. Too many people work work work and then something happens and they can no longer enjoy life. I don't want that so I'm looking to real estate to provide me with the future i am wanting. 

I don't have a specific area i am looking into as far as REI. Starting out i thought maybe looking into tax liens, REO, and HUD deals. My main goal would be to create a portfolio of buy and hold rentals along with a couple fix n flips throughout the year.

The podcast is amazing! I have been listening to it for about a month now starting at the beginning and listening to every one of them. It's good stuff. Especially for a beginner.
