@Cameron Sylvester @Jason Abellada - The next meetup for this group is now posted in the events forum. Looking forward to meeting you there!

Come join us for a free event in downtown Tampa! This event is a great networking opportunity whether you are a seasoned investor or new to the business. It is co-hosted by Suites at Madison and Advanta IRA.

The guest speaker is Bob Henriquez, who is the Hillsborough County Property Appraiser, a position he has held this since 2012. This is a great opportunity to learn from an elected official who has an extensive background in Tampa politics.

There will be plenty of topics covered, but they will include:

1. The valuation process
2. How to contest your property valuation, to lower your taxes
3. How to determine homestead when as in investor, you live in one of your multifamily units.

Networking starts at 6pm (light refreshments provided), followed by the presentation at 6:30. There will be additional networking at the end of the event as well.

I look forward to seeing you there!

@Stephan K. is right. Clearwater is probably the toughest on STR in the area, but it is different for every municipality. In Pinellas county pretty much every municipality has a minimum 30 day rental rule with a few grandfathered exceptions.

@Will Crayger Welcome to investing in Tampa! My fiance and I recently moved to the area from San Francisco, and have bought a SFH and are under contract on a 5-unit property so far. We are still very much in the beginning of our journey and building our network here locally. We've found that good contractors are one of the hardest things to line up without some trial and error, but maybe we can share notes as we both build up our teams.

Local meetups have been an amazing resource for us so far. There are a couple free ones that we go to every month that have a great group of people. Let me know if you want the details to see if they would interest you.

@Masaki Maeda It'd be great to connect with you at some point too. We are always looking to meet more local investors so we can all get better together and grow in this market. Maybe me, you, and @Will Crayger can get together for a lunch at some point in the coming weeks.
