With all the new changes and regulations for appraisers, it makes it difficult for new trainees to get into the business. Put a post in www.appraisersforum.com and you might get lucky.

If it was built without permits then it would make the unit unpermitted. It would be illegal if the zoning only allows up to two units and you have a three unit multi family. You should find out what is the zoning for the property. Is the third unit an addition, or was it converted within the original structure?

I have an investment property I am getting rent ready & need to repair/replace a couple of windows located in Pennsylvannia. Can anyone recommend a store or online where I can buy these replacement windows at a good price. Also what is a fair price to pay someone for the installation of these windows?

I am in the process of having someone replace the electrical baseboard heaters in a duplex row townhouse I recently purchased in Pennsylvannia. I'm trying to get a rough idea what is a fair price to have someone remove the old baseboard heaters & install new electrical baseboard heaters. I got a quote from one handyman approximately between $350 to $400 per heater which includes the cost of the heaters which cost approximately $130 each & labor. Is $220 to $270 labor per heater a fair price or is that a little high. The total amount of heaters I will be replacing is 9.

I have been recommended to go with electric heaters, that way the tenants will be responsible paying for heating. If I do go with electrical I will also have to upgrade the electrical.

I recently purchased my first out of state investment property in PA. I am currently having my handyman fix up the property & I am replacing the heating system from oil to electrical. Since I live in Miami & I am not familiar with heating systems, what electrical baseboard heating systems do you guys recommend that are cost effective & get the job done. My handyman stated to not go with the cheaper ones because they do not heat efficiently but says the ones he recommends cost 200+ each.
