Hello Bigger Pockets community!

I was wondering what are some of the most influential books you have read that have really helped you to advance your real estate investing knowledge and career? All replies are appreciated!

Cheers!

Thanks Victor, I'll check them out!

Hi Logan, one title that I read every few months is "The Compound Effect" by Darren Hardy. It's not about real estate specifically, but I have found the principles to be relative.

One of my favorite real estate specific books is Brandon Turner's "Investing in Real Estate with No and low Money Down."

Post: Networking With More Successful Investors

Hey Bigger Pockets community!

As I am beginning to learn, networking is essential for success, especially when it comes to real estate investing. In about two weeks, I'm going to be attending my second local real estate investing meeting and am excited to meet / network with other like minded individuals. Because I am a beginner and young, I don't have a lot of experience in the real estate world, however that doesn't mean I can't help other, more successful investors out. My question is this: What are some ways in which I could provide value to more successful real estate investors lives? I'm pretty good with technology and the web (social media, setting up websites, managing an email list, stuff like that) but was wondering what other ways I could help more successful investors out? What is something you wish a young investor could help you out with to make your life easier? All ideas are welcome!

     Cheers

Hello Bigger Pockets community!

After reviewing many articles, books, podcasts and the like, investing in multifamily real estate seems to have sparked my interest. However, I am still unclear as to how exactly it works, or how I personally should get started. My plan was to flip properties until I save up > 50K and then invest in as many units that I safely can. For anyone who has purchased multifamily, how did you get started? What was you plan of attack? What do you wish you would have done different? Once you purchase the first multifamily, how do you then purchase another (flip single family until I save enough for another down payment, or?)?

All replies are appreciated!

Hello BiggerPockets community!

Recently I purchased two single family homes which I plan to re-sell within 1.5 months for a profit. These two homes are my first ever real estate investments. My question is: What advice would you give yourself the first day of your real estate investing career?

     Hello BiggerPockets community!

My name is Logan Jorns and a new investor in the St. Louis Metro East area (Belleville, IL especially). Currently I am 20 years old and am taking this semester off from school to pursue real estate investing. I grew up in a family where my parents invested in real estate and have been helping them with their properties since I was strong enough to hold a hammer.

Yesterday I co-signed the contract on my first house which I plan to flip. My goal for 2018 is to flip at least three properties and acquire at a minimum, one rental property. Year by year I plan to scale up my portfolio and leverage my real estate investments to slowly but surly grow my portfolio and eventually move into multifamily and commercial real estate. By 2028 my goal is to have one million dollars in cash flow from my investment portfolio.

I am excited to join this community and came across this website this morning during my hour of online only real estate research which I chose to do. When I am not working part time jobs, I spend hours researching via the internet, books, videos and anything I think can provide me with a source of knowledge in real estate investing.

Again, thank you for allowing me to join this community. I am excited for what the future holds!

     Cheers,

        -Logan Jorns
