@Account Closed  Your wrong man, I've owned dogs my whole life until now and use to train and compete with them in shows.  You shouldn't judge someone unless you truly know them.

@Nicole A.  No insult intended, just speaking the truth.  All animals have a smell, any house I have gone in whether cleaned very well or not very well, still has smell.  We use to have chickens, pigs, bunnies, cows and horses.   All of them smelled whether they were inside or out  I had dogs as a kid and as an adult and I love animals, that was until my allergies/asthma took over.  Luckily I'm not allergic to my kid, but we all have a smell and whether you like it or not I notice.   An yes it is my belief that a lot of people don't realize the smell, because their use to it in their own home.

I have allowed dogs in my apartments, so you cannot say that I hate dogs.

@Nicole A.  Pet owners are very much like smokers, they don't realize that they smell like their pets and their homes smell just the same.  When i walk into a house I can smell if a dog or cat had been in that place years ago, depending on how it had been cleaned after they were gone.   Pet's smell big time.   Plus, when I'm looking for a primary residence the minute I smell that an animal has been in the property, I'm automatically thinking discount.

Jon Holdman what he said. Sounds like none of ya have any money so why wouldn't siblings want to sell it and claim their portion. Remember real estate costs money to own free and clear. There are taxes, insurance and maintenance. Sell.

Nicole W. Pets are absolutely nothing like kids. Pets poop and pee in your year and apartment and pets shed hair hat damages carpet and curtains an there dander is pretty hard to get out. I can always tell when someone has pets on their house because it smells.

Being someone who I'd asthmatic around most dogs and cats I always view I would never allow pets. But when I bought my first duplex in a great neighborhood the upstairs tenant had a German Shepard. He is a wonderful tenant, but the dog has ruined the carpet not due to rippin it but because of all of its hair and the dander that is so hard to get out. I have a non-refundable deposit of $500. Since the dog can really do no more harm I have resigned him and expect him to stay or many years to come. In the meantime I plan on saving up some money for the day he moves out so that I can do a nice remodel of the place. After the remodel I will only rent to very small dogs that don't yelp much and have a fee structure for them I there is a problem.

Scott Trench so are you saying when you make a 20% return your saving all of that money in what? Or are you reinvesting it into another deal and making another 20% and so on. If so, how long have you been successfully making 20%+, seems like the best ROI I've ever heard. Your net worth must be astronomical. Please write a book, I'd love to hear your story.
What doesn't make sense to me is that she has a credit report issue from utilities, but he doesn't. I would want an explanation of that.

I guess I'm old school, because I the only thing I borrow is for the other 75% after I put my 25% down on the property.  I save the cash for repairs and from my rental checks and keep it in an EF fund in case there comes a problem with the rental property.  That way I don't owe for a sink and vanity I put in a bathroom and make interest and payments on them for the next 5 years or so.  I know that's an extreme example, but you get the picture.

The economy improving is a falsehood. When a government spends more then they make, it's like putting everything on credit and continually raising your credit limit. I call it a fake economy. The ballon will burst again and those of is who are in a strong financial position will weather the storm. Interest rates will only rise, they are at an all time low. When rates increase, competition for vying homes will decrease which will lower prices.
